The Peephole

"When he was gone, Jesus said, 'Now the Son of Man is glorified, and God is glorified in him.'"

John 13:31 (NIV)

Key Points

1

Jesus Already Knows - Jesus is not discovering betrayal—He is allowing revelation. God never exposes to shame; He reveals to heal.

2

The Peephole Is Small—but Powerful - Judas didn't betray Jesus suddenly. The betrayal grew quietly—through proximity without surrender. Hidden places don't stay neutral.

3

Proximity Is Not the Same as Intimacy - Judas was close enough to receive bread from Jesus' hand—but not close enough to repent. You can sit at the table and still guard a peephole.

4

"Now" Comes After Exposure - Only after the hidden thing leaves the room does Jesus say Now. God's Now often waits on our willingness to let something go.

Q1

What is small enough in my mind that I've allowed it to stay hidden—but serious enough that God is asking to address now?

Closing Word

Lord, show me the peephole. Not to condemn me—but to free me. Single it out. Reveal it. And give me the courage to get it out. I don't want proximity without surrender. I want Your Now. Amen.
