Fear vs Grace - Staying at the Table
"But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Matthew 6:33
Vision matters. Scripture is clear: where there is no vision, the people perish. When God's vision fades, discipline erodes and priorities distort.
When vision is lost, our own voices grow louder. Busyness replaces purpose, and fear begins to sound like wisdom.
Fear always takes the microphone first. It says: 'I'm behind.' 'I've already ruined too much.' 'I don't deserve peace.' 'There's never enough.' Fear is loud—but it is not wise.
Grace speaks differently. Grace reminds us: Stay at the table. You don't have to earn your seat. You were chosen before you performed. You were pursued before you improved.
Jesus flips our natural order. We assume: 'Once my needs are handled, then I'll focus on God.' Jesus says: 'Focus on God first, and I will handle your needs.'
'Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness' is not a motivational phrase—it is the aim. Everything else aligns after.
When grace takes the microphone, fear loses the final word—and life begins to simplify.
Where have I lost sight of God's vision and allowed my own voice—or busyness—to take the lead?
What fear-based statements have been shaping my decisions lately without me realizing it?
In what areas of my life have I been waiting for my needs to be handled before focusing on God?
What would it look like this week to stay at the table—to trust grace instead of striving to earn my place?
Remember the aim. Fear will always try to rush you. Grace will always invite you to stay. Seek Him first. Trust Him with the rest.
